Advanced Nurse Practitioner & Doctors
Elizabeth has extensive experience of urgent and emergency conditions in children and adults
If you require an immediate appointment, please see Elizabeth first: In your ten minute appointment, she will work with you to efficiently assess if you have an illness requiring rapid attention. In the majority of cases, she will see-and-treat your condition. In other cases, if your condition is more complex, please feel free to ask Elizabeth to liaise with your named GP partner and the team will work together to arrange relevant investigations prior to your appointment with one of the doctors
Sycamore Medical Centre is accredited by the University of Birmingham Medical School as a Teaching Practice
As a patient, we will from time to time request your consent to see a medical student. For this consultation, you will be interviewed by the medical student for approximately twenty minutes. One of the GP partners will then listen to the medical student’s report, ask him or her questions and then talk to you and examine you. At other times, the student doctor will sit in on your consultation with one of the partners. All of our attached medical students are in their final year; they are within a few months of becoming registered doctors, pending successful completion of this final year. We are thankful to our patients for your help in developing new doctors
Please do not book an appointment to see a student doctor if you do no feel comfortable and please do make your wishes clear to our reception team: Your well-being is our priority
Our current medical student is Ms Trishika Patel
Postgraduate Specialty Training Doctors
Sycamore House Medical Centre is accredited by Health Education England (West Midlands) as a Training Practice.
We provide specialist medical training attachments. This benefits us all through developing the next generation of specialist doctors and these colleagues also help to keep our thinking and our approach at Sycamore fresh and up-to-date
Specialty training doctors are registered with the General Medical Council as fully independent practitioners
When required, they will liaise with the GP partners for their opinion and advice. We would request our patients to feel comfortable in asking our specialty training doctors to liaise with your usual GP if you feel this will help you
Two grades of specialist training doctor may be attached to Sycamore at any given time:
Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2)
Our FY2 doctors have completed their medical degree and at least one year in hospital posts before joining Sycamore for a 4 month attachment
Publication of GP Net Earnings
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean (e.g. average pay)
for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working at Umbrella Medical in the last financial year
was £76,004 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 7 full time GPs,
5 part time GPs and 3 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
