Advanced Nurse Practitioner & Doctors
Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Sycamore House Medical Centre is accredited by the University of Birmingham Medical School as an Outer Teaching Practice for final year medical students.
As a patient, we may from time to time request your consent to be seen by a medical student. For this consultation, you will be interviewed by the medical student for approximately twenty minutes. One of the senior GPs will then listen to the medical student’s report, ask him or her questions and then talk to you and examine you to confirm their findings. At other times, the medical student may sit in on your consultation with one of the senior GPs. All of our attached medical students are in their final year at medical school; they are within a few months of becoming registered doctors, pending successful completion of this final year. We are grateful to our patients for your help in training and developing new doctors.
Please do not book an appointment to see a medical student if you do no feel comfortable and please do make your wishes clear to our reception team: your well-being is our priority
Postgraduate Specialty Training Doctors
Sycamore House Medical Centre is accredited by Health Education England (West Midlands) as a Training Practice.
We provide specialist medical training attachments. This benefits us all through developing the next generation of specialist doctors and these colleagues also help to keep our thinking and our approach at Sycamore fresh and up-to-date
Specialty training doctors are registered with the General Medical Council as fully independent practitioners
When required, they will liaise with the GP partners for their opinion and advice. We would request our patients to feel comfortable in asking our specialty training doctors to liaise with your usual GP if you feel this will help you
Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2)
Our FY2 doctors have completed their medical degree and at least one year in hospital posts before joining Sycamore for a 4 month attachment
Publication of GP Net Earnings
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean (e.g. average pay)
for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working at Umbrella Medical in the last financial year
was £76,004 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 7 full time GPs,
5 part time GPs and 3 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
